White House Task Force Issues Report on Fighting Childhood Obesity

Washington Post staff writer, Robin Givhan, published his article on the white house and their fight against childhood obesity, titled White House Task Force Issues Report on Fighting Childhood Obesity. In his article, Givhan summarizes the White House's task force on childhood obesity. The task force developed a 124-page report laying out 70 recommendations to help decrease the prevalence of childhood obesity. The report also contained a gentle warning that, while the federal government can't solve the obesity epidemic, it is prepared to take action where others don't. The task force was created by the president as part of the first lady's ?Let's Move? campaign, which was launched in February 2009. The task force would like to see the country return to a childhood obesity rate of 5 percent by 2030, while the current rate is 20.
