 R.C., and the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program vs. Andy
Hornsby and the Alabama Department of Human Resources
This civil suit was brought against the Alabama Department of
Human Resources for their alleged failure to provide appropriate
care for "R.C.," an eight-year-old boy in their custody. The claim
asks the Department to ensure that other children with behavioral
health issues receive proper care, receive services to improve
conditions in their homes, and are placed in the least restrictive
setting closest to their parents' homes. The plaintiffs were also
seeking monetary relief.
