Illinois Senate Bill 326, Nursing Home Reform
The Illinois Senate sent nursing home reform legislation, Senate Bill 326, to Governor Pat Quinn. The legislation has been designed to improve the quality
of care and
safety at nursing homes, including those that serve people with mental illness. If signed into law, the legislation is
also expected to benefit nursing home residents with mental illnesses by
enabling them to transition from nursing home environments to smaller community-based programs.
