MHPAEA Interim Final Rule Comments From the National Committee for Quality
Assurance
National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a leading evaluator of health
care quality and holds an interest in mental health coverage that Americans
receive. NCQA submitted comments on the Interim Final Rules
for the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) said that the mental health utilization review process needed to be
clearly defined. NCQA advocates a utilization review process that recognizes
clinically appropriate standards of care.
