NAPHS Comments on IFR for Mental Health Parity & Addiction Equity Act of 2008
The National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (NAPHS) submitted comments to the federal government regarding the Interim Final Rule
(IFR) released for
the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. NAPHS reported that a survey of its members' experiences with health plan limitations on inpatient
and residential behavioral health treatment indicated that health plans became more restrictive after the law passed.
