 Improving Michigan's Child
Welfare System: Our Children. Our Future. Our Responsibility.
The task force was launched in April 2008 by Michigan's Department of
Human Services Director, Ismael Ahmed, to build a template of reform in
the states child welfare system. The task force reviewed state and
federal standards to develop guiding principles, outcomes, and action
steps for intermediate and long-term reform. The task force made eight
priority recommendations, each accompanied by action steps and expected
outcomes.
