 Treatment Episode Data Set Highlights 2004
The 2004 Treatment Episode Data Set summarizes 1.8 million annual
admissions to treatment for drug and alcohol abuse in licensed
facilities. It is prepared by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration.
In 2004 five substances led admissions:
- Alcohol 40%
- Opiates 18% (primarily heroin)
- Marijuana/hashish 16%
- Cocaine 14%
- Stimulants 8% (primarily
methamphetamine)
The report offers state-by-state
admissions data.
