ShareHouse Bill 5001e1 - General Appropriations Act: Florida House 2008-2009 Budget Proposal

This budget proposal includes funding reductions for child-protective services investigators and eliminates subsidies for high-risk children in foster care. Both versions, Florida state House and Senate, cut the Healthy Families child abuse and neglect prevention program by 12.5%. The House bill goes further in its cuts by removing 205 positions from the food stamp program and reducing the reimbursement rates for health care service providers. As of April 10, 2008, Florida Governor Charlie Crist has yet to sign the budget into law.
