ShareLetter From Virginia Governor McDonnell to General Assembly About FMAP Funding Contingency

On April 21, 2010, the Virginia General Assembly approved a budget amendment to redirect Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP) funds, should the state receive new FMAP funding. The FMAP redirection amendment is a contingency plan. If the state receives additional FMAP funding it can now use those funds more flexibly, instead of only for current services.
