Transforming the Adult Mental Health Care Delivery System in Milwaukee County: Project Summary

The Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, Behavioral Health Division has been planning to improve the adult mental health care delivery system in the county since 2008. The report is a project summary by Public Policy Forum (PPF), which is helping the county with the project. The report described the county’s first steps that started in October 2008 and included a definition of the problem, a recommended planning approach, and a timeline for the redesign. The transformation project has included community stakeholders, who with PPF developed a problem statement that identified lack of capacity, synchronization, resources, and alignment of provider-based incentives.
