ShareLouisiana House Bill 653: Allows the Actual Examination of a Patient Conducted by a Health Care Provider, Parish Coroner, or Authorized Physician to Be Conducted by Telemedicine

As a part of Louisiana Governor Jindal's promotion of mental health services, House Bill 653 was introduced to the Legislature and would allow the actual examination of a patient conducted by a health care provider, parish coroner, or authorized physician to be conducted by telemedicine utilizing video conferencing technology. It also amends previous rules regarding admission by emergency certificate to include examinations done by a physician, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, or psychologist via video conference technology.
