New York State Medicaid Fraud Control Unit: 2009 Annual Report

This report contains the 2009 Annual Report of New York State's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit. The report, which is written by New York's residing Attorney General, summarizes data concerning the number of investigations opened and completed by provider category, the number of cases prosecuted, the number of cases resolves and their outcomes, the number of complaints received and investigations opened regarding abuse and neglect of patients in health care facilities, the amount of recoveries collected, the costs incurred, and projects for 2010. Also included is an evaluation of the attorney general's 2009 performance. All states much complete this annual report and submit their report to the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
