 From Facility to Community
Rick Bahr, chief operations officer for
Community Management Initiative, Inc., presented the information on April
5, 2009, at Executive Express, an OPEN MINDS Institute. He discussed how
the installation of passive monitoring devices in a home can enable
consumers with disabilities to safely live independently in their family
homes, rather than the traditional options of hiring a caregiver or
entering a supervised or institutional living arrangement. In addition,
the monitoring devices and monthly monitoring services can cost much less
than the traditional options.
