Transcript of LA County Board of Supervisors Homelessness Plan Discussion
The discussion on the Homeless and Housing programs begins on page
53 of this transcript of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors
meeting.
Key points discussed are funding sources for the services to be
provided in five regional shelters placed in each of the
supervisor's districts, and in a central shelter that will provide
services to families with children. The plan focuses on providing
long-term housing solutions by addressing the individual causes of
homelessness. It will also create a "homeless court" where homeless
individuals with outstanding warrants who have completed mental
health or recovery programs can get the warrants dismissed.
The plan was approved by a vote of 4 to 5, the no vote was cast by
Supervisor Mike Antonovich due to concerns about funding.
