U.S. Hospital Bed Supply Shrinks
While Hospital Workforce Grows - Dartmouth Atlas Report Prompts Call for
Reforms Some Mississippi Cities Have Twice the Beds of Some California
Towns
This press release announces the completion of
the "Hospital and Physician Capacity Update" report which analyzes
"current hospital and physician capacity as well as trends over a 10-year
period (1996-2006), which uncovered irrational distribution of valuable
and expensive health care resources. The report found similar wide and
persistent variations of acute care hospitals in 2006 that existed in
1996, and generally in the same places."
