Bridging the Evidence Gap in Obesity Prevention: A Framework to Inform Decision Making

The Institute of Medicine (IOM) published their report titled, Bridging the Evidence Gap in Obesity Prevention: A Framework to Inform Decision Makin, in April 2010. In 2008, Kaiser Permanente asked the IOM to develop a practical, action-oriented framework to guide the use of evidence in decision making about obesity prevention policies and programs and to also guide the generation of new and relevant evidence. In response to the request, IOM constructed a committee based on relevant information from community, environmental and policy-based obesity prevention initiatives. The framework process, L.E.A.D was formed. This report discusses L.E.A.D.
