Share2008 Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring Program (ADAM II)

A national 10-city study conducted by the Office of National Drug Control Policy reviewed arrestee drug use. The researchers found that in 2008 between 48.6% and 86.5% of adult males who voluntarily provided a urine sample tested positive for drug use. The most common substances were marijuana, cocaine, opiates, and methamphetamine. The ADAM II study includes drug testing data on male arrestees booked for offenses in 10 metropolitan areas. The ADAM II sites are Atlanta, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Denver, Colorado; Chicago, Illinois; Indianapolis, Indiana; Minneapolis, Minnesota; New York, New York; Portland, Oregon; Sacramento, California; and Washington, District of Columbia.
