State of Connecticut DSS Alzheimers Disease Respite Care Capacity-building Project: Alzheimers Disease RCCBP RFP 021508

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) released RCCBP RFP 021508 on February 15, 2008. Proposals were due by March 26, 2008. The total amount of funds available is $315,000 and the contracts will begin July 1, 2008, and run through June 30, 2009.

The DSS Bureau of Aging, Community, and Social Work Services selected the New England Cognitive Center (NECC) and Connecticut Community Care, Inc. (CCCI), to negotiate for contracts to provide respite care options for individuals with Alzheimers disease and their families and caregivers. CCCI will serve the City of Hartford and families in the greater Hartford area. NECC will also serve the greater Hartford area as well other regions of the state. DSS seeks to expand the availability of respite services for those who are physically frail, geographically isolated, and/or at greatest economic or social need.
