Employer-Sponsored Behavioral Health: Current Themes & Future Direction
Ron Finch, Ed.D., of the National Business Group on Health presented data gathered from about 7,000 employers about their health care costs in 2008. The
presentation was given at a summit hosted by The American College of Mental Health Administration: The College for Behavioral Health Leadership. Dr. Finch
related that results revealed that costs for behavioral health services were 0.73% of the total health plan costs. On average, employers spent $62 per employee for
behavioral health care costs when average overall plan costs were $8,490.
