ShareAmerica Talks: Protecting Our Families' Financial Futures

The report by Genworth Financial, Inc., presents results of an national Age Wave/Harris Interactive survey conducted in January 2010. The report accompanies Genworth's Let's Talk campaign to help financial advisors and consumers discuss potential long-term care needs as an aspect of retirement planning. The survey responses from 2,939 adults indicated that less than ten percent of consumers are discussing long-term care preferences or engaging in actual planning for funding and caregiver roles should long-term care be needed. Only 37% of the respondents said they thought they would need long-term care after retirement. National statistics indicate that 67% will need long-term care.
