 Review of Medicaid Participation Eligibility for One Indiana State-owned Psychiatric Hospital for the Period July 1, 1996, Through June 30, 2007
The OIG determined that the hospital did not meet federal eligibility
because it was not in compliance with two special Medicare Conditions of
Participation requirements for staffing and medical records. This report recommends that the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) refund more than $16 million in federal funds paid to a state hospital for inpatient psychiatric services when it was not eligible to receive Medicaid payments.
