ShareH.R. 3590: Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act of 2010

The bill was signed into law on March 23, 2010. It seeks to improve American's access to health care through a variety of changes. Key provisions address insurance coverage by requiring all Americans to have health care insurance and prohibiting health plans from refusing to provide coverage for pre-existing conditions. The bill also expands Medicaid eligibility to adults unable to afford health insurance.
