United States v. State of Texas Monitoring Team Baseline Report for Brenham State Supported Living Center

Baseline reviews conducted by court monitors at three State Supported Living Centers in Texas—Corpus Christi, Brenham, and El Paso—have identified a variety of areas of improvement that will be tracked as the centers start to comply with the United States Department of Justice settlement agreement in July 2010. Brenham is in the first stages of adopting individualized planning, but planning is not interdisciplinary; risk-level assignments and functional assessments do not follow current state standards; and many Brenham staff did not view community living as a viable outcome for residents.
