Quality Management Strategy of the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs

The Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has implemented a standardized quality management strategy for its programs to ensure program compliance with regulations, safeguard the health and safety of individuals receiving services, implement promising practices, and promote choice and control for service recipients. Through systematic data collection and analysis, ODP has planned to assess patient-centered measures and system-centered measures to gauge provider organization compliance with minimum standards and for continuous quality improvement. The strategy applies to all services funded by ODP and provided to individuals and families receiving ODP services, including institutional care, community-based provider organizations offering services for mental retardation and autism, county mental health and mental retardation programs, and administrative entities.
