Traumatic Brain Injury in the United States: Emergency Department Visits, Hospitalizations & Deaths 2002-2006

Researchers with the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reviewed data for traumatic brain injury (TBI) for 2002 through 2006. This report presents data on TBI-related emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and deaths for the years 2002 through 2006 and can be used to determine the number of TBIs occurring each year, groups most affected, and the leading causes of TBI.
