Home Run: The Capital Areas 10Year Plan to End Homeless in the
County of Dauphin & the City of Harrisburg
"Home Run" is an evidence-based, long-range, comprehensive plan to
help homeless individuals in the central Pennsylvania area establish
healthy and stable lives in permanent housing. Concurrently, it is a
long-range plan to prevent families and individuals from becoming
homeless. Its recommendations are evidence-based, and draw from the
best practices of innovative programs and initiatives throughout the
country. It focuses on four areas: Housing, Services, Prevention,
and Partnerships, Leveraging, & Public Awareness. Efforts will be
to:
-
Increase the number of homeless individuals and families placed
into permanent housing
-
Provide community based services and supports that prevent
homelessness before it happens and diminish opportunities for
homelessness to reoccur
-
Increase public/private partnerships, collaborations, and leverage
resources by raising public awareness of what is necessary to end
homelessness in the area
