Responses Received in Response to Bending the Arkansas Medicaid Cost Curve

The Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Medical Services (DMS) solicited provider organization's proposals to help DMS reduce Medicaid spending by $400 million for fiscal year 2011. The strategies submitted include an estimate of the impact on the state's Medicaid costs in fiscal years 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. Each strategy also includes the provider organizations' assumptions and methodology for the estimate; implementation steps, and a time line. Each also proposes the impact on consumers, provider organizations, the Arkansas Health System, and the community at-large. DMS will make its final recommendations to Governor Mike Beebe before the end of the current fiscal year.
