U.S. Department of Justice vs. Universal Health Services Inc., dba Keystone Marion LLC; & Keystone Education and Youth Services LLC

On March 2, 2010, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Commonwealth of Virginia filed a False Claims Act complaint against the operators of Keystone Marion Youth Center, a residential facility in Marion, Virginia that provides psychiatric counseling and treatment for boys ages 11 through 17. The complaint names Universal Health Services Inc. (UHS); Keystone Marion LLC; and Keystone Education and Youth Services LLC as defendants. DOJ and the Commonwealth of Virginia allege that the defendants falsified treatment records and billed Medicaid for inpatient psychiatric care that was not provided.
