 Statewide Transition Plan: Outsourcing DFPS
Substitute Care and Case Management Services
On March 1, 2006, the Texas
Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) released a
timetable for procuring and implementing an independent
administrator for child protective services. The deadline for having
an IA in place and offering services in Region 8 is September 1,
2011.
The timetable reflects the state's decision not to release a Request
for Proposals (RFP) April 1, 2006, for an independent administrator
to provide child protective services for Region 8. The report also
specifies the order in which additional regions of the state will be
outsourced and evaluated for the same services.
