 Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe: A New Perspective On Health Care
The text of Governor Beebe's weekly column and radio address for February 26, 2010, discusses the state Department of Human Services efforts to contain Medicaid costs. Governor Beebe said between 2001 and 2009, the state's Medicaid budget increased from $1.9 billion to $3.7 billion, and has been expanding at about six percent annually since 2006. In 2010 and 2011, the growth rate is expected to increase by eight-to-ten percent annually.
