Description of Recommendations Adopted by the New York State Medicaid Redesign Team

On February 24, 2011, New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo accepted a draft recommendations report from the Medicaid Redesign Team that will cap the state’s Medicaid expenditures at $15 billion. The report’s 79 recommendations include initiatives intended to redesign and restructure the Medicaid program with a goal of improving the program’s efficiency. The recommendations are based on ideas submitted by stakeholders and suggestions and feedback from members of the Medicaid Redesign Team. This report includes a brief description of each of the 79 recommendations, the theme, and the estimated state savings for fiscal year 2011-2012.
