 Medicare Program; Prescription Drug Benefit Program: Payments to Sponsors of Retiree Prescription Drug Plans; Proposed Rule
As of January 2009, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) had approved 787 Special Needs Plans (SNPs), and had released new rules to identify participants and target plan enrollment. The plans provide specialized care to individuals with chronic health conditions or severe disabilities, who are low-income, or who are at-risk of institutionalization.
