 Federal, State, & Local Spending to Address Child Abuse
& Neglect in SFY 2006
Researchers from Child Trends conducted a 24-question survey to evaluate
federal, state, and local expenditures for child welfare in state fiscal
year (SFY) 2006. The
study also highlights important trends in child welfare spending between
SFY 1996 and SFY 2006. The researchers found that while the amounts of
both state and federal expenditures increased, the federal share of total
spending decreased.
