 Georgia's Behavioral Health Game Plan
This four-year plan started in Georgia in July 2008. It aims to move the state away from its reliance on inpatient hospitals as the main source of treatment for individuals with serious mental illness. Three initiatives have already started, including expansion of access to community-based services, consolidation and modernization of forensic treatment, and privatization of operations at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta.
