Transformations: How the Mental Health Services Act Is Changing Lives in Los Angeles
By 2009, after starting Full Service Partnership (FSP) programs in 2006 and 2007, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) has experienced a
decline in the rate of hospitalization and incarceration among people with mental illness who were enrolled in
FSP programs. The FSP was
designed as a team approach to providing comprehensive mental health and supportive services to low-income people with mental illness who are at-risk of
homelessness, incarceration, or hospitalization. LACDMH has designed a regular reporting structure that permits it to pull reports based on real time data to monitor the
FSP program outcomes.
