Join Together Panel Blueprint for the States:
Policies to Improve the Way States Organize and Deliver Alcohol &
Drug Prevention and Treatment
On February 13, 2006, John Daigle, a
consultant for the Legal Action Center, delivered testimony in
Washington, D.C., to the Join Together Panel on ways states can
organize and deliver alcohol and drug prevention and treatment
programs. In his speech, Mr. Daigle provides an overview of a report
he co-authored for the Center for Health Care Strategies entitled,
"Identifying State Purchasing Levers for Promoting the Use of
Evidence-Based Practice in Substance Abuse Treatment," in which
researchers looked at state efforts to implement evidence-based
practices (EBPs) and the types of incentives states are using to
promote EBPs.
