Optimizing Billing, Collections & Staff Productivity with a Full Team Approach: The NHS Human Services Case Study

This presentation, by Kevin McClure, Chief Financial Officer, NHS, Derrick Yacovelli, Vice President of Financial Operations, NHS, Matt Zabolotny, Senior Director of Business Operations, NHS, and Deanna Telese, Vice President and Corporate Controller, NHS, was originally scheduled to be presented at the 2010 OPEN MINDS Best Management Practices Institute. Due to weather and travel restrictions, the presentation was instead presented on March 4, 2010 as part of a special OPEN MINDS Executive Briefing Web Seminar.

During this session, Mr. McClure, Mr. Yacovelli, Mr. Zabolotny, and Ms. Telese discuss the large community-based non-profit human services agency, known as NHS. They explain the financial issues that faced the company, solutions they proposed, turnaround difficulties, and how, in time, they designed a better management for the finance sector.

This information and method utilized by the NHS can be applied to other behavioral health organizations to help maximize revenue and control costs.
