D.C. CFSA LaShawn A. Six Month Plan
The District of Columbia Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA)
submitted a six-month reform plan to comply with a court order in the
LaShawn A. class action lawsuit to improve its child welfare services. The
court monitor did not approve this plan as required by the court order.
Among the provisions set forth in the District's plan:
No child would stay overnight in an intake center or office building
85% of children entering foster care would have health screening
Caseloads would not exceed national standards
