2009 Child Welfare Data Book

The Oregon Department of Human Services: Children, Adults and Families Division published their results of child welfare data for 2009 in their report titled 2009 Child Welfare Data Book. The report contains accurate, up-to-date information about the children who are apart of Oregon's child welfare system due to abuse or neglect. Information in this report is presented in text as well as charts and graphs. The two goals of Oregon's DHS Child Welfare are to first, safely and rightfully reduce the number of children in foster care and second, ensure that children in foster care are safe and healthy. This report contains fast facts of child welfare for 2009, information on children protective services, family services, foster care, the adoption and guardianship program. In conclusion, the report presents an appendix of county information regarding the numbers of different aspects of child welfare. For example, the numbers of foster care facilities in Banker County, Oregon.
