ShareSacramento County Child Welfare & Probation Self-Assessment Report 2006-2009

The 2009 Sacramento County self-assessment process involved multiple focus groups consisting of Child Protective Services and Probation staff, labor representatives, community partners and other interested individuals. the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to establish the California Outcomes and Accountability System (COAS).

The four primary components of the COAS comprise the California Child and Family Services Review and are:

  • Quarterly county outcome and accountability data reports

  • Peer Quality Case Reviews (PQCRs)

  • County Self-Assessments

  • County System Improvement Plans (SIPs)

On a regular basis in Sacramento County, the quarterly outcome data reports are used as a guide and management tool to track performance over time. This information is utilized in the planning of the triennial cycle of PQCR, followed by the Self-Assessment, and culminating in the SIP.
