 Mentally Healthy Aging Report on Overcoming Stigma
for Older Americans
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has
focused on the need to enable older Americans accurate information
about healthy mental aging. Two general strategies have been
selected as the most promising for effecting changes and reducing
stigma associated with seeking help. They are:
- Empower and educate older adults
with mental illnesses
- Educate the public on mental
health and aging
