Share Teen Tipplers: America's Underage Drinking Epidemic

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse and addiction at Columbia University report, Teen Tipplers: America's Underage Drinking Epidemic, concludes that there is, by any public health standard, an underage drinking epidemic in America. Teens are drinking a large percentage of the alcohol sold in our nation; more than five million high school students binge drink at least monthly; the proportion of eighth graders who begin drinking is up by a third since 1975, and the gender gap of alcohol consumption between boys and girls has evaporated.
