 Virginia Early Childhood Comprehensive
Systems Project
This press release summarizes details about the Virginia Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Project known as the VECCS Early Childhood State Plan 2005. The State plan is designed to enable more children to start school in good health and able and ready to learn. It coordinates existing programs and services in a prevention oriented, family-centered system.
First year priorities include development of strong state and local leadership to coordinate services, creation of data sharing and storage systems and technical support systems, developing uniform performance measures across agencies, building enhanced planning and delivery of services. The plan also calls for informational marketing outreach to state residents about the importance of early learning and nurturing environments.
