 D.M. et al., v. Butler County Board of MRDD
The lawsuit, D.M. et al., v. Butler County
Board of MRDD, was filed in the U.S. District Court in Cincinnati by
the Ohio Legal Rights Services on behalf of three individuals. The
plaintiffs ask the Court to close Fairfield Center and ensure that the
following steps are taken:

Order Butler County MRDD to assess all Fairfield
Center residents and determine the most appropriate setting for each

Order the county MRDD board to develop a
comprehensive plan to include timelines and targets to place the
plaintiffs from the Fairfield Center into the community and provide
appropriate services for them in the community.

Order the facility's licensed service provider,
Alexson Holdings Inc., to cease operating the Fairfield Center and for
the Butler County Board of MRDD to terminate the lease agreement with
Alexson.

Appoint an entity to operate the Fairfield
Center and oversee downsizing and eventual closure
