South Carolina Agency Budget Cuts 2007 to 2010
The South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center examined the impact of South Carolina's reduced spending on children by comparing actual expenditures in
various human service departments for fiscal year 2006-2007 to the fiscal year 2009-2010 General Appropriations bill. Since 2007, South Carolina has pared
$12.2 million in spending from children's mental health services, resulting in less community-based mental health care and addiction treatment for children and
youth.
