Efficacy and Comparative Effectiveness of Off-Label Use of Atypical Antipsychotics

Certain atypical antipsychotics are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and used for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. These same drugs have been studied for off-label use for other medical conditions and for the management of Tourette's syndrome and autism in children. This report, Efficacy and Comparative Effectiveness of Off-Label Use of Atypical Antipsychotics, serves to review the scientific evidence of the safety and effectiveness of such off-label uses.
