Public Expenditures on Children through 2008: Key Facts
Members from both The Urban Institute and The Brookings Institution collaborated to the report titled Public Expenditures on Children through 2008: Key Facts.
This report outlines public spending on children. The report includes actual and projected outlays on children and other major items in the Federal Budget,
public spending on children by age and the ten largest federal programs for Children by age. The results of the research found that spending on children did
increase because of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), but not proportionately to other federal spending. From their research, the authors
project that spending on children will decline again after the AARA expires.
