MLN Matters Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter, A New Home Health Certification Requirement
On January 1, 2011, a new Medicare requirement went into effect; it requires that physicians document a face-to-face visit with patients before authorizing home
health services. The documentation must be present on all certifications for patients who start receiving home health services.
