-- Welfare Caseload Report
With the cooperation of
state TANF agencies, CLASP has gathered and posted recent caseload
data in an effort to supplement available HHS data. Currently,
TANF caseload data through June 2001 is posted on the
Administration for Children and Families website, at http://www.acf.dhhs.gov/news/stats/families.htm.
CLASP has collected data through September 2001 for all 50 states
and the District of Columbia, and through October 2001 for 32
states. Initial caseload data is sometimes subsequently modified,
and some states reported data slightly differently from how it is
reported on the ACF website, so these numbers may change somewhat
by the time they are formally posted by ACF. Nevertheless, the
state numbers do give an overall picture of recent caseload
trends.
