Rosalind Richmond, CCS, OPEN MINDS Consultant, brings a wealth of experience in behavioral health and healthcare coding, auditing and clinical documentation. Ms Richmond also brings extensive knowledge of compliance and CMS regulatory guidelines, and clinical record auditing. Prior to joining OPEN MINDS, Ms. Richmond worked with Medpartners Health Information Management, where she provided consultation around coding and clinical documentation in a wide variety of settings across the country, including behavioral health organizations, emergency departments, and outpatient surgery centers. In this role she worked with a wide variety of electronic medical records applications, including EPIC, Webstrat, Meditech, Lynx, Softmed, and 3M applications. Ms. Richmond also has experience as a Coding Auditor for the Department of Defense (DoD), at the United States Air Force Academy and Peterson Air Force Base, where she documented coding and compliance policy for the Department of Defense mental health and rehabilitation services and provided physician education and electronic health record support using ALTA and 3M Encoder applications.

Ms Richmond has provided consultation to the coding division of a software development company, providing analysis and content description of medical code sets. Ms. Richmond also has experience coordinating coding and reimbursement activities. In her role as Coding and Billing Coordinator for University Physicians, Inc. she provided clinical staff documentation oversight, and worked with applications for services reimbursement activities.

Ms. Richmond has achieved the following certifications: CCS, AHIMA-2002, SNOMED Clinical Terminology, ICD-9, ICD-0, ICD-10, CPT, CPCS.

Ms. Richmond serves as the Data Quality Chair, for Colorado Health Information Management, and has been editor and contributor for Data Quality in the News since 2006. Ms. Richmond also won the AHIMA RACE AWARD, First Place, in 2008.
